1. Following the intervention of the Chamber the Highways Authority have agreed to postpone the work in the Market Place, which would have resulted in loss of car parking within the Market Place, due to take place on 2nd December. This work will now take place during January/February, the Chamber are grateful that Highways appreciated the importance of Christmas trading for local businesses.

2. New Road layout at ‘Tesco Roundabout’, the Chamber continues to speak with the Highways Authority concerning the revised layout of the approach to this roundabout from Dereham. The left hand lane is now only for access to the A47, many motorists seem unaware of this and many near misses have been reported.

3. The Chamber continues to fight for the provision of public toilets on the Dencora site. It is our understanding that the public toilets on the Cowper Road car park are shortly to be closed and demolition is likely to follow. That will only leave the toilets in Barwell Court available to the public. It seems incredible that the new development does not include the provision of public toilets within its most recent application.
